In the beginning... I, known as Chris Starrett, decided in the spring of 2006 to enter the trade of Taxidermy.

I decided to get into this trade because I wanted to provide a good product to our local hunters. My inspiration was my father's and my experience with a local taxidermist, whom is no longer in business, who ruined three of our deer heads. After that I vowed that my customers would never, ever experience that with me.

My philosophy that will always stick with me and to my customers is: "Treat the mount as if it was yours and if you were going to hang it on your own wall."

My training came from a local taxidermist, "Ergenbright Taxidermy." Eddie Ergenbright took me under his wing and taught me how to do this wonderful trade. Eddie has been doing the trade for over 10 years.

My father, Scott Starrett, has decided to take over the bird area in the business. Some of his early work is quite impressive, but don't tell him - it will go right to his head. My father has taken over the birds, because I've got enough work on deer mounts and small animals, as well as taking care of twin girls and my wife.
